The Diary of an Engineer Don’t graduate, it’s a trap! I remember my seniors saying this to me when I asked them about their life after completing university studies. At that time, I was surprised to hear them say so and would even wonder what could make a student of engineering happier than earning that ‘Er.’ prefix. Little did I know that life after graduation would be so stressful and make me so desperate seeking for opportunities everywhere and end up disappointed. The prefix before my name brought with it not only happiness but extended responsibilities too. Responsibilities, which during my Bachelor years, I never saw as a priority. I was always in a hurry to graduate but not quite ready to face the consequences the degree would bring with it. Experiences as an International Student I was not a big fan of Kathmandu. I didn’t like its dusty roads, ungenerous landlords and the quality of life it had for me. I wished I could go someplace different with cleaner roads, healthier AQI and better opportunities. I came to the U.S. and it’s been a while that I’ve been here. Going from one classroom to next from one period to another speaking on top of our voices, yes teachers we are the unsung heroes.
